WindScape

Our flagship product is WindScape®. This technology is a world-leading atmospheric model used to locate wind energy sites rapidly and cost-effectively.

WindScape® is a regional wind resource mapping tool based on the complementary matching of regional and fine scale flow models.

In the initial stages of wind resource assessment, WindScape® is used to identify areas or specific locations suitable for wind farm development.

Output consists of high resolution maps of mean annual wind speed and annual energy yield. These maps can be combined, within a GIS environment, with maps of transmission lines and other quantities to facilitate the wind prospecting process.

WindScape® has been used to map an area exceeding 2,000,000 km2, predominately within Australia, New Zealand, South Africa & Canada. In addition the system has been utilised and tested in Ireland, Scotland, Spain, the Pacific Islands, Mexico, USA, China & India.

Technical Highlights
